Max Austin is a Scottsdale, Arizona artist, and illustrator. She has always been fascinated with the power of storytelling, which is why Max decided to pursue the art of illustration.  She studied at the San Francisco Art Institute, UC Santa Cruz, CA, and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Max continues her independent studies and works with her long time mentors to further expand the boundaries of her art. 

Being a grapheme-color synesthete, color is an integral part of her life and work. Max specializes in digital illustration and abstract paintings. She also works in oil and acrylic.

 Max: “I love the endless way color, shape and form can be combined to create new worlds. Where whimsy can run wild, triangle towers are built, and ladybugs sit down for tea.”

Through all her work, Max’s objective is to convey a sense of story and emotion that resonates with the viewer.
